The Backrooms are divided into different levels, each offering unique challenges and escape routes. Level 0 is the first you’ll encounter, accessible from the Overworld, and the only way out is through hidden exit doors. Level 1, which you reach from the Nether, also has exit doors, but the dangers escalate as you progress. The End is Near, found by entering the Backrooms from the End, introduces even more daunting challenges. Here, you’ll find shelves with VHS tapes; finding the red one and inserting it into a computer is your key to escape—but be cautious, as making too much noise could be your end.
To access the Backrooms, you’ll need to perform specific actions like Suffocating, Flying into a wall, or being hit by an Anvil.
In terms of items, you’ll come across Almond Water, a crucial resource for replenishing hunger. You might also stumble upon a rare music disc called "Burning", which plays the haunting tune "It's Just a Burning Memory" by The Caretaker, adding to the unsettling atmosphere. The entities you’ll encounter, like Bacteria, Faclings, and the rare Smiler, each present their own threats. Some, like the Partygoer, even drop special items like the "Turtle Crusher" music disc.
