The Mysterious Merchant buys and sells various mysterious items using unique currencies and is open to bartering for items. He is the most common to be seen in the Mushroom Islands biome. Trading with the Mysterious Merchant rewards you with experience. Upon death, it drops either a Map, a Book & Quill "Mysterious Book," or a Tome.
You can tempt a Mysterious Merchant into bartering by using or dropping an Emerald near it. The following items are available for bartering:
- Pumpkin
- Carved Pumpkin
- Jack o' Lantern
- Gold Nugget
- Raw Gold
- Glistering Melon Slice
- Golden Carrot
- Golden Apple
- Totem of Undying
- Spawn and Behavior
Mystery Boxes drop experience orbs and an item(s) from different categories when destroyed using a Golden/Netherite Axe. There are five available variants: Random, Armor, Equipment, Melee, and Ranged. There is also a slight chance for enchanted golden equipment items to drop.
The Mysterious Table is used to craft items/blocks introduced in the addon. It features dismantling, duplication, and exchanging functionality. Interacting with a Mysterious Table using a Mysterious Page activates it, requiring 50+ experience levels. After activation, the Player can use the table to Exchange. Interacting with a Mysterious Table using a Wither Rose spawns a Vex and gives the player a Mysterious Page.
- Dismantle: Break down golden, iron, and/or diamond equipment for a single gold/iron ingot or diamond.
- Duplication: Craft and/or duplicate a Smithing Template.
- Exchange: Requires 50+ experience levels to exchange an Enchanted Book.
On using the Tome (consumes 2 experience levels), it summons Evocation Fangs or grants up to two Players one or ALL of the following positive effects at random: Speed I, Strength I, Regeneration I, and/or Jump Boost I (each for 15 seconds or 5 seconds if all are active).
0+ Experience Levels: Summons 18 Evocation Fangs in a straight line of 10 blocks.
15+ Experience Levels: Summons a small circle of 4 Evocation Fangs around the Player followed by a medium-sized circle of 8 Evocation Fangs.
30+ Experience Levels: Summons another 18 Evocation Fangs in a straight line of 10 blocks and a large-sized circle of 16 Evocation Fangs following a medium-sized circle of 8 Evocation Fangs.
